Five Reasons to visit Scotland this year

Scotland is an amazing country with so much to see and do.

If you haven’t been before or are just looking for a new part of the Country to explore, here’s 5 reasons why you should see some Scotland in this year.

The Scottish Highlands

We challenge you to find anywhere more scenic and beautiful in the world than the Scottish Highlands. Picture expansive skies, breathtaking landscapes, dramatic castles, wild deer, soaring eagles, mountains and the greenest land you will see anywhere.  Take your camera, experience the sights and sounds and meet the local people.  We guarantee you’ll love it.

The Hogwarts-Express

A must for Harry Potter fans and anyone with a passion for steam streams and stunning scenery, a trip on the Jacobite Steam Train across the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct is on many people’s bucket list.

On our Magical Highlands Tour your guide will show you some of the stunning locations from the blockbuster films including Loch Shiel, the island of Eilean na Moine and the Pass of Glencoe.

Remember your Cockroach Clusters and Exploding bonbons for the trip 🙂

Loch Ness

Home of the famous monster and the second largest loch in Scotland, Loch Ness is approx 23 miles long running south west from Inverness. It’s a beautiful location offering so much to visitors including boat cruises, fabulous walks, stunning views, Urquhart Castle and a fantastic visitor centre.

There have been thousands of sightings of Nessie over the years, will you be one of the lucky ones to spot her this year?

The Highland Games

There are nearly 100 highland games events taking place throughout Scotland every year. Originally, the games were part of Scottish clan gatherings, today, they are popular festivals and events for all to enjoy.

If you want to pick one of these events to attend in 2020, we recommend The Royal Braemar Highland Gathering.  Running since 1832, the event has been attended by many members of the Royal Family and includes track and dancing events, Tug of War Championships and Scottish Pipe Bands. This popular event is so good, we run a bus to take you there 🙂

Scottish whisky

You can’t visit Scotland without trying a dram of Whisky.

There are over 100 whisky distilleries in Scotland, many which open their doors to visitors and offer taste session every year.

Famous across the world, the most expensive bottle sold in 2018 for £1.1m.  Although it’s available in most countries around the globe, there’s nothing like tasting it on its home soil, straight from the distillery or after day tour of the Country.
